A Dog's Best Friend

        Faye Carey is 15 years old. She volunteered at her local Animal Shelter for 1 week, helping out with the animals. She then realized that she really liked helping out, and decided to continue. "We picked up a puppy in the pound the first day I went to Animal Control and then on my last day he was still there and I felt really sorry for him," she says. "So I advertised him on TradeMe and he got a lot of interest and he went to a lovely home in Auckland." She now has been working at the Animal Shelter for a year now, helping re-home dogs. She has a Facebook page showing the animals that are up for adoption and has helped re-home over 60 dogs, and spends 3 or more hours every day helping out at the Animal Shelter. "I'd love to have a career in Animal Control. I quite enjoy dealing with people and making a difference." Faye Carey says.
